From its first broadcast on August 13, 2009, to its formal commissioning on October 22, 2011, by the then President, Dr. Goodluck Ebele Jonathan, represented by the then Minister of Education, Prof. Ruqayyat Rufai, the station has lived up to its mantra: Better By Far.  The vision was simple and profound: to train professional broadcasters, project the good image of the University of Ilorin, and promote functional education in line with the institution’s mission. Tijani Adekola Adewoyin, Chairman of the Nigeria Union of Journalists, NUJ, Unilorin Chapel, with an Award of Excellence and Journalism Support. The presentation was made on Wednesday night, 29th July, 2026, during the union’s 30th Anniversary Dinner held at the NUJ Kwara State Council Secretariat in Ilorin.   The Igbomina National Students’ Union, University of Ilorin Chapter, has honoured the Director of Corporate Affairs, University of Ilorin, Chief Abdulganiyu Kunle Akogun, for his contributions to the growth of the union and the Igbomina nation. The honour was conferred last Saturday, (July 25, 2026), during INSU-Unilorin’s 25th Anniversary and Igbomina Day Celebration held at the University Auditorium.
