Unilorin NUJ Felicitates with Muslims Worldwide on Eid-ul-Kabir Celebration
The Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), University of Ilorin Chapel, has extended warm felicitations to Muslims across the world, and particularly to members of the Chapel, on the occasion of this year’s Eid-ul-Kabir celebration.
In a goodwill message signed by the Chapel Chairman, Hon. Adewoyin Tijani Adekola, and Secretary, Comrade Bashirat Omotosho, the union described Eid-ul-Kabir as a festival that embodies sacrifice, obedience, faith, and compassion, as exemplified by Prophet Ibrahim (AS).
The statement urged Muslim faithful to use the period to reflect on the virtues of selflessness and devotion to Allah, while also promoting peace, unity, and tolerance in their communities.
“The NUJ UNILORIN Chapel rejoices with all Muslims on this sacred occasion. We call on our Muslim brothers and sisters, especially our members, to continue to uphold the teachings of the Holy Qur’an and the noble example of Prophet Muhammad (SAW). Let this Eid inspire us to show more love to the less privileged and strengthen the bonds of brotherhood,” the statement read.
The Chapel further commended Muslim journalists within its fold for their dedication to truth and professionalism, noting that their contributions have continued to uplift the image of the union and the journalism profession.
The union also prayed for peace and stability in Nigeria, urging Nigerians of all faiths to embrace the spirit of sacrifice for the greater good of the nation.
