Unilorin NUJ Congratulates Akogun of Oke -Ode on His Appointment

The Executive Committee and members of the Unilorin Chapel of the Nigeria Union of Journalists have felicitated with the Director of Corporate Affairs of the Institution, Mr. Kunle Akogun, on his appointment as the Akogun of Oke-Ode Land.

This was contained in a statement issued and signed by the Chairman of the UNILORIN (NUJ) Chapel, Mr. Adewoyin Tijani, and made made available to newsmen in Ilorin on Wednesday.

The statement explained that "Your elevation to the position of Akogun of Oke-Ode is a great honour, and it also mirrors the exemplary character, steadfast dedication, and distinguished service you have continually rendered to Oke-Ode and the wider community. We recall with gratitude your unwavering support to the Unilorin Chapel of the NUJ, where you have served as a mentor, role model, and guiding light to countless journalists. Your willingness to share your wealth of experience, your encouragement of youthful ambition, and your relentless pursuit of excellence have left an indelible imprint upon our institution.

"It is indeed fitting that the same qualities that endeared you to us have now been recognised by the custodians of Oke-Ode’s heritage, who have bestowed upon you this honourable chieftaincy title. In your capacity as Director of Corporate Affairs, you have championed transparency, fostered robust communication between the university and its stakeholders, and championed the welfare of staff and students alike. Your visionary leadership has not only elevated the Directorate but has also contributed significantly to the overall advancement of the University of Ilorin’s mission.

"The appointment as Akogun of Oke-Ode is, therefore, a well-deserved acknowledgement of your contributions to both the academic realm and the cultural tapestry of our region. As you assume this new mantle, we are confident that you will continue to wield your influence with the same wisdom, compassion, and dedication that have defined your tenure at the Directorate. May your tenure as Akogun be marked by peace, prosperity, and the continued flourishing of Oke-Ode’s rich traditions, and may your example inspire future generations of journalists, public servants, and community leaders.

"The Chapel members pray Almighty Allah to grant you good health, longevity, and the strength to discharge the responsibilities of your new title with distinction. We look forward to celebrating many more milestones together and to the continued partnership between your office and our union".
