Unilorin NUJ Celebrates with Egbewole on his Birthday Celebration

The Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), University of Ilorin Chapel, has extended warm and heartfelt birthday felicitations to the Vice-Chancellor of the University of Ilorin, Professor Wahab Olasupo Egbewole SAN. 


This was contained in a statement issued and signed by the Chairman of NUJ Unilorin Chapel, Mr. Tijani Adekola Adewoyin, on Friday, December 26, 2025, and made available to newsmen, the union expressed profound gratitude to the Almighty God for granting Prof. Egbewole another milestone year of life, imbuing him with continued vigor, robust health, and unwaning passion to lead the illustrious University of Ilorin with distinction and aplomb.


The Union highlighted Prof. Egbewole's unwavering support and steadfast commitment to the NUJ Unilorin Chapel, citing his visionary leadership, wise counsel, and generous patronage as a constant source of inspiration and motivation to members. 


Adewoyin commended Prof. Egbewole for creating myriad opportunities for journalists to enhance their professional acumen and contribute meaningfully to the advancement of journalism practice in the institution. "Your leadership has been a beacon of hope and progress for us," the statement read.


The Chairman also wished to commend Prof. Egbewole for the exemplary manner in which he has discharged his duties as the helm of the great university, demonstrating unwavering dedication to academic excellence, staff welfare, fostering a culture of peace, harmony, and inclusivity on campus, and making indelible contributions to the development of the larger community. "Your sterling leadership has earned you the admiration and respect of all, sir, and we are honored to have you at the forefront of our institution," the statement noted.


As Prof. Egbewole celebrates another glorious milestone, the NUJ Unilorin Chapel prayed that the Almighty God, who has hitherto sustained and guided him, continues to endow him with strength, resilience, and wisdom to lead the University of Ilorin to even greater heights of academic distinction and societal impact. "May your endeavors be blessed with abundant success, and may you reap the fruits of your labor in due season," the union prayed. 


Adewoyin concluded by wishing Prof. Egbewole a year filled with unalloyed joy, boundless prosperity, and the fulfillment of all his heart's desires, praying that God keeps him for the university and the nation, granting him many more years of fruitful service. Aameen.

Kwara United GM Badawiy Banned for Two Years from Lagos Stadia

The Lagos State Football Association board has swiftly acted to address a blemish on the otherwise impeccable organization of the 2025 President Federation Cup finals, which took place last Saturday at the Mobolaji Johnson Arena, Onikan, Lagos. During the highly charged final match between Abakaliki FC and Kwara United, it was observed that the General Manager of the victorious Kwara United, Mr. Bashir Badawiy, violated the stringent security measures in place.
