Honouring a Legend: Lagos FA's Lifetime Achievement Award for Billy Thanni

The Lagos State Football Association is preparing to honor and celebrate former Stationery Stores star player, Biliaminu 'Billy' Thanni, with a LIFETIME ACHIEVEMENT Award.

As stated by the Chairman of Lagos FA, Hajji Gafar Liameed, this award aims to recognize and celebrate the legendary player for his significant contributions to the advancement of football in Lagos State.

"This award, which also includes a generous cash prize, has been established by the Lagos FA as an annual event to honor both past and present legends of the sport. This initiative is part of the various efforts by the Lagos FA board to encourage, promote, and develop football within the state," explained Hajji Liameed.

At 80 years old, Thanni is the oldest living winner of the President Federation Cup. Renowned for his agility and speed, the talented winger clinched the cup, previously known as the National Challenge Cup, in 1982, when Stationery Stores triumphed over Niger Tornadoes with a score of 4-1 in the final held at the main bowl of the National Stadium in Lagos.
