Agor Looks Forward to the Oriental Derby with Optimism

Heartland winger Chukwuma Agor is eagerly anticipating the upcoming Oriental derby against Abia Warriors in Owerri this Sunday.

Having previously secured a 2-0 victory during this season’s Nigeria Premier Football League match at their rivals' home, with goals from Agor and Michael Ogu, he is confident that Heartland can achieve another favorable outcome.

“That's the goal!” he expressed. “I want to contribute, and everyone is determined to finish the season strong.

“Heartland tends to perform well in derby matches, and I have participated in several myself. We are heading into this weekend's game with a lot of confidence, and I believe we can mirror our success from Umuahia. Why not?

“The derby holds significant meaning for the fans, and I share that sentiment. We are all very motivated. Every player is giving their utmost, and the staff is fully committed to ensuring we finish as high as possible.”

Reflecting on his personal performance this season, with three goals and one assist in 18 matches, Agor feels a sense of pride in his accomplishments.

“I believe I’ve reached some impressive milestones,” he noted.

The unwavering support from Heartland's fans, both at Dan Anyiam Stadium and during away games, has been invaluable, and Agor believes that the bond with the supporters can propel the Naze Millionaires toward a memorable conclusion to the season.

“It’s been incredible,” he remarked. “This season, the connection has deepened. The interaction between players and fans is evident, and it’s making a difference for us.

“Credit goes to all the players and the staff for their contributions. We’ve invested a lot of effort during this time, and it’s starting to yield results. As we approach the critical phase of the season, we all need to be prepared to step up and support the team.”
