As Governor AbdulRahman
AbdulRazaq CON, Chairman Governor's Forum in Nigeria, celebrates his 65th (also
known as Blue Sapphire Jubilee) birthday on February 5, it's a fitting time to
reflect on his remarkable journey as a leader and his transformative impact on
Kwara State. Since assuming office in May 2019, AbdulRazaq has demonstrated
unwavering dedication to the welfare and progress of his people. His
administration's achievements are a testament to his vision and leadership.
In the education sector,
AbdulRazaq has hired 8,601 teachers in both SUBEB and senior secondary schools,
also he has approved the recruitment of another 1,800 new senior class
teachers, prioritizing STEM subjects and rural areas. He has also completed and
commissioned KWASU at Osi campus, providing opportunities for young minds to
thrive.
The Ministry of Business, Innovation, and
Technology has witnessed significant growth under AbdulRazaq's leadership, with
completed projects like a garment factory creating over 1,000 jobs and a sugar
film factory generating 100 direct and 500 indirect jobs. Furthermore,
AbdulRazaq created a film village, providing opportunities for filmmakers to
thrive.
AbdulRazaq's
administration has also made significant strides in healthcare, completing
infrastructure upgrades and procuring medical equipment, ambulances, and
outreach vans. His administration has
hired thousands of Health workers .The government has also partnered
with the Abdulsamad Rabiu (ASR Africa) Centre to construct a state-of-the-art
oncology center, further solidifying its commitment to quality healthcare.

Recently, the wife of the
President, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, commissioned several iconic projects in
Kwara State including ICT Centre, built under the Renewed Hope Initiative at
the Kwara State University of Education ,Unity Flyover, Ultramodern Intensive
Care Unit, A state-of-the-art healthcare facility, Executive Ward, A
specialized healthcare facility, Gen. Tunde Idiagbon Flyover, ICU, Dr Amuda
Aluko She also laid the foundation stone of the Oluremi Tinubu Hospital. These
projects demonstrate the federal government's commitment to supporting Kwara
State's development and growth
AbdulRazaq's leadership
has been marked by inclusivity, transparency, and accountability, earning him
recognition from stakeholders across the nation.
AbdulRazaq's
administration has prioritized youth empowerment and women's development,
recognizing the critical role these groups play in shaping the state's future.
He has also made history by appointing more women into his cabinet, with a 50%
representation of women. AbdulRazaq signed the Gender Inclusion Bill into law
in 2021, mandating that at least 35% of appointees in the executive council and
other classes of political appointments be women.
Governor AbdulRazaq's
leadership style has been described as inclusive, transparent, and accountable.
He has fostered a sense of community engagement, encouraging citizens to
participate in the development process. This approach has helped build trust and
confidence in the government, ultimately driving progress and growth in the
state.
