Unilorin to Training Five Hundred Students on the Use of AI

 



The management of the University of Ilorin has unveiled plans by the University to sponsor five hundred students of the institution on the use of Artificial Intelligence.

         

The Vice-Chancellor of the university; Prof. Wahab Egbewole stated this last week during the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding with the management of Tech Mindset Africa in Nairobi, Kenya, as part of the activities marking his working visit to the East African country.

         

The Vice Chancellor, who is also the Secretary-General of the Association of West African Universities (AWAU), explained that the proposed training of the Unilorites is targeted at encouraging the beneficiaries to acquire and expand needed skills in the exploration of Artificial Intelligence for innovations and career progression.

 

While on the visit, Prof. Egbewole also took time to hold consultations and sign Memoranda of Understanding with organisations such as SchoolTry AB, Kenya; Craft Silicon, Kenya; and Konza Smart City.

Similar engagements were also held with reputable Kenya institutions of higher learning such as the Management University of Africa(MUA), Day Star University as well as the Kenya-based African Telecommunications Union (ATU).
