Unilorin VC Promises Continuous Industrial Harmony

 





The Vice Chancellor of the University of Ilorin, Prof. Wahab Olasupo Egbewole, SAN, has assured the institution's stakeholders that the University would not witness any form of industrial disharmony in the course of his tenure. He also confirmed that the University would celebrate its golden jubilee anniversary next year.


The Vice Chancellor who stated this recently while fielding questions during the press briefing of its 39th convocation ceremonies.


The Vice Chancellor noted that everything worth doing would always be done and at the right time to ensure industrial harmony in the University.

He added that the University is very proud of its reputation as an institution with no attraction for any form of distraction.


Prof. Egbewole, opined that the University management neither determines the remuneration of its staff nor when such would be paid, assured the pressmen that the University would continue to engage in dialogue with its staff members to ensure industrial harmony.

He also said that specific welfare packages have been put in place to assist staff members of the University with the conviction that such would motivate them towards greater productivity.


The Vice Chancellor also noted that the University has become an integral part of the community where its campuses are located. He added that the University’s dedication to community development and outreach initiatives has deepened its connection with the society.

He explained that the University is committed to giving back to the society as its students and faculties actively participate in programmes that positively impact the local and global communities.


Prof. Egbewole, who is the 11th Vice Chancellor of the University also stated that arrangements are being made by his administration to celebrate the golden jubilee anniversary of the institution elaborately next year.

He explained that "the University will roll out the drums and also showcase our achievements and how we are impacting our host community as well as what we are doing to reposition the education sector".
