CoNS President, Shakiru Kareem Congratulates New NOUNAA Excos

The national president of the Congress of the National Open University of Nigeria (CoNS), Com. Shakiru Olatunde Kareem has congratulated the newly elected executives of the university's alumni association who were sworn in last week after their election. 


This felicitation message was contained in a release over the weekend,  personally signed by the CoNS President, Com. Shakiru Kareem Olatunde and made available to newsmen in Abuja. 


Com. Shakiru who is the seventh President of CoNS described the victory of Com. Ifeanyi Obikwelu is a testament to the trust and confidence placed in his leadership sagacity by the members of the NOUN Alumni Association. 


He noted that the NOUN student populace is confident that Com. Ifeanyi's passion,  dedication and vision will contribute to the growth and prosperity of NOUNAA. 


Com. Shakiru however prayed that the new administration be marked by transformative initiatives, fruitful collaborations and a steadfast commitment to the welfare of all NOUN alumni. 


He further stated that CoNS will be looking forward to having a robust and productive working relationship that will impact the academics positively with the NOUNAA.

Kwara United GM Badawiy Banned for Two Years from Lagos Stadia

The Lagos State Football Association board has swiftly acted to address a blemish on the otherwise impeccable organization of the 2025 President Federation Cup finals, which took place last Saturday at the Mobolaji Johnson Arena, Onikan, Lagos. During the highly charged final match between Abakaliki FC and Kwara United, it was observed that the General Manager of the victorious Kwara United, Mr. Bashir Badawiy, violated the stringent security measures in place. He made reckless attempts to run and celebrate in front of the five state governors seated in the VVIP section of the stadium, thereby jeopardizing their safety as well as that of other prominent dignitaries and industry leaders present. Badawiy has been banned for two years from all Lagos Stadia and LSFA related activities following a security breach and unethical behavior during the Federation Cup final against Abakaliki FC.
