FFP: La Liga Call for Juventus’ Sanction

Following series of allegations of financial impropriety that has led to mass resignation of the whole Board of Directors of Italian Serie A side, Juventus, the Spanish La Liga has petitioned the European soccer governing body UEFA to sanction the Turing club for breaching the financial fair play rule.  The Spanish league had already filed an official complaint against the Juventus club to UEFA in April 2022 for capital gains and wages

The Juve storm is making the whole world talk. And there are those who are calling for immediate action. This morning LaLiga, the league of the Spanish top division, issued a very harsh statement in which it calls for urgent sporting sanctions for the Juventus club.

THE ATTACK

Italian newspaper Gazzetta Dello Sport reports that: "Following the resignation of the Juventus board of directors, LaLiga is calling for the immediate application of sporting sanctions against the club." Then it is underlined: "LaLiga has already filed an official complaint against Juventus t


o UEFA in April 2022, in which it reported violations of the rules on financial fair play which the Italian Guardia di Finanza is investigating. In particular, the accusation of having accounted for transfers above their fair value and underestimated employee expenses, in breach of UEFA's financial fair play. Furthermore, the complaint accused Juventus of concealing the true cost of its players' wages." Then the lunge: "Last Monday, in the same note issued by the Board of Directors, the representatives of Juve acknowledged very serious accounting irregularities, also aimed at deceiving the UEFA authorities for financial fair play, among other things. LaLiga, with the goal of promoting financially sustainable football in Europe, supports these allegations against Juventus and calls for the competent authorities to apply immediate sporting sanctions against the club."

Kwara United GM Badawiy Banned for Two Years from Lagos Stadia

The Lagos State Football Association board has swiftly acted to address a blemish on the otherwise impeccable organization of the 2025 President Federation Cup finals, which took place last Saturday at the Mobolaji Johnson Arena, Onikan, Lagos. During the highly charged final match between Abakaliki FC and Kwara United, it was observed that the General Manager of the victorious Kwara United, Mr. Bashir Badawiy, violated the stringent security measures in place. He made reckless attempts to run and celebrate in front of the five state governors seated in the VVIP section of the stadium, thereby jeopardizing their safety as well as that of other prominent dignitaries and industry leaders present.
