Take Active Part in Politics, Rukayat Shittu Urges Nigerian Youths

The All Progressives Congress candidate for Owode/Onire constituency in Asa local government of Kwara State, Rukayat Motunrayo Shittu has called on Nigerian youths to start taking an active part in politics in preparation for the fast-approaching 2023 general elections.


She made the call at a North Central Zone APC Youth Stakeholders Meeting which was held in Abuja.


Rukayat said, “For the political system to be representative, all parts of the society must be involved, noting that the action is very pivotal.


“I believe that the youth can change the dynamics of the Nigerian political scene for the better, but this cannot be done if the youths do not take immediate action towards securing the future. My passionate commitment to political participation has birthed this initiative. Youth involvement in politics will determine the fate of Nigeria’s future, economically and otherwise.  And we must be ready and willing to make those sacrifices.


“Beyond vying for political positions, the youths should be ready to take up shared responsibility through community involvement, obtaining their Permanent Voter’s Card, and engaging with political parties.”


She also charged Nigerian youth to join pro-democracy groups, noting that political education is required to achieve good governance.


Rukayat however commended the Governor of Kwara State, Mallam Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq for his good leadership in the State, stating that his good governance is what birthed her and some other vibrant youths in Kwara Political space.

The Lagos State Football Association board has swiftly acted to address a blemish on the otherwise impeccable organization of the 2025 President Federation Cup finals, which took place last Saturday at the Mobolaji Johnson Arena, Onikan, Lagos. During the highly charged final match between Abakaliki FC and Kwara United, it was observed that the General Manager of the victorious Kwara United, Mr. Bashir Badawiy, violated the stringent security measures in place.
