Sports Flames Award: Defender, Bamidele Nominated as Kwara United Player of the Season

Central defender Ayodeji Bamidele has been nominated for the Kwara United player of the season award by Sports Flames. 


The defender has been an important member of the Kwara United team with 30 appearances so far in the 2021/22 Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) season. 


According to Sports Flames, Bamidele will compete for the award alongside Afeez Nosir, Samad Kadiri and Alao Danbani.


A portal where Sports Journalists and fans can vote for Bamidele has been opened on the website https://bit.ly/sportflameskupoty with voting already ongoing, the voting will be closed on the 3rd July 2022.


The winner will be announced on Match Day 37 and the presentation of the award will be on Kwara United's last home game of the season against MFM FC, on 7th July 2022 at the Kwara State Stadium Complex.


The 23-year-old Bamidele lists HNK Rijeka, NK Varazdin and Niger Tornadoes as his former clubs.

Kwara United GM Badawiy Banned for Two Years from Lagos Stadia

The Lagos State Football Association board has swiftly acted to address a blemish on the otherwise impeccable organization of the 2025 President Federation Cup finals, which took place last Saturday at the Mobolaji Johnson Arena, Onikan, Lagos. During the highly charged final match between Abakaliki FC and Kwara United, it was observed that the General Manager of the victorious Kwara United, Mr. Bashir Badawiy, violated the stringent security measures in place. He made reckless attempts to run and celebrate in front of the five state governors seated in the VVIP section of the stadium, thereby jeopardizing their safety as well as that of other prominent dignitaries and industry leaders present.
