2023 General Election: Women Group Lauds Buhari, Women Leader Over Added Slot for Women

A group Concerned with women's participation in politics in the  of All people progressive Congress (APC) in Oyo State has lauded the efforts of the wife of the President, Dr. Aisha Buhari, the national women leader of APC; Dr. Betta Edu for urging the party's leadership both at the National and state level to give women more elective posts/slots in the next year's general election. 


The group who are concerned about women's participation in next year's general election made this known on Saturday while speaking with newsmen in Ibadan, the state capital, Oyo state. The group thanked the First Lady first for intervening and seeking for the women's course in the art of politicking.


They said the plead by the First Lady and the APC national women leader to the party hierarchies to give women more slots in the elective positions has started yielding results as APC in Oyo State has increased the slots for women in the state from one during the 2019 general elections to two for the 2023 election season. 


They however appreciated and praised the Oyo State APC Chairman; Hon. Isaac Omodewu for giving the slots to Hon. Tolulope Akande Sadipe of the Oluyole Federal Constituency and Hon. Adegbite Ganiyat Toyin to represent the good people of Irepo/Oorelope/Olorunsogo Federal in the House of Representatives. 


The group further assured the state chairman that the women will not disappoint him when elected next year as they will deliver dividends of democracy not only to their constituencies but will also be a loyal members as they had always done and will continue to do more to uplift the party and also give priority to party leaders in the state.


The group also said that with Hon. Adegbite as APC candidate for Irepo/Oorelope/Olorunsogo Federal Constituency, the party is coasting to victory as she is the only credible, tested,  trusted, and reliable person that can face the PDP candidate. They said she is the people's choice for the e post.

Kwara United GM Badawiy Banned for Two Years from Lagos Stadia

The Lagos State Football Association board has swiftly acted to address a blemish on the otherwise impeccable organization of the 2025 President Federation Cup finals, which took place last Saturday at the Mobolaji Johnson Arena, Onikan, Lagos. During the highly charged final match between Abakaliki FC and Kwara United, it was observed that the General Manager of the victorious Kwara United, Mr. Bashir Badawiy, violated the stringent security measures in place.
