Oladeji Ganiyat Mourns Ex- Atisbo LG Chairman, Hon. Akogun


The former Senior Special Assistant to the governor of Niger State, Hon. Oladeji Ganiyat Folakemi, has expressed condolences to the family of the immediate past chairman of Atisbo local government area of Oyo State, Hon. Wasiu Owolabi Akogun.


Akogun, who until his death a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), died on Monday at the University of Ilorin Teaching Hospital (UITH) where he was receiving treatment after he had an accident last Thursday.


In a condolence message she personally signed, Hon. Oladeji Ganiyat Folakemi, said the death of Akogun, who clocked forty last year is a colossal lost not only to his family, but the whole of Oyo state and APC family nationally.


Folakemi described the late Akogun as a peace loving man, a great politician, hunmble, lover of Oke-Ogun people and a non-tribalistic Nigerian who offered selfless service to all regardless of differences.

She also described the late Akogun as a vibrant and talented whom many have been tip to take over the mantle of leadership in the country.


She added that his death had deprived Oyo state and Nigeria in general the maturity and wisdom he had always brought into service.


Hon. Oladeji Ganiyat Folake who condoled the bereaved family, the government and people of Oyo State as well as the entire APC family over the painful loss, prayed that the soul of late Hon. Akogun find eternal rest.
