A renowned investigative journalist and Publisher of Fresh Insight Newspapers, Abdulrasheed Akogun,  has declared his intention to contest for the Shaare/Òkè Ọdẹ Constituency seat in the Kwara State House of Assembly in next year's general election.


Akogun, who made his declaration at his Òkè Ode Ward 1 base in the Ifelodun local government area of the state on Sunday, said he is aspiring to contest the seat under the Social Democratic Party (SDP).


He disclosed that his aspiration was borne out of the quest to provide a robust policy framework in alliance with the executive arm of government to ensure that the people of Share/Oke Ode Constituency enjoy good governance and dividends of democracy.


Akogun also said that his experience in the media industry and participation in political activities places him in the best position to reshape the economy of the great people of his constituency in this digital age.

 

The SDP chieftain, who said that he intended to vie for the position to give his people the proper representation they deserved, promised not to disappoint the constituents if allowed to serve.


He also used the opportunity to urge the people of Shaare Òkè Ọdẹ constituency to join the SDP and also register for their PVC to vote for people who will represent their best interest at all levels of government in the state and Nigeria as a whole.

Kwara United GM Badawiy Banned for Two Years from Lagos Stadia

The Lagos State Football Association board has swiftly acted to address a blemish on the otherwise impeccable organization of the 2025 President Federation Cup finals, which took place last Saturday at the Mobolaji Johnson Arena, Onikan, Lagos. During the highly charged final match between Abakaliki FC and Kwara United, it was observed that the General Manager of the victorious Kwara United, Mr. Bashir Badawiy, violated the stringent security measures in place.
