Says Nigerian Flag Must Hoisted in Qatar

We Will Mobilize Fans to Intimidate Ghanians on Tuesday - Kurfi

He watched from the comfort of his palatial home in Maitama Abuja for the duration of the nerve gripping, tension soaked match, the Katsina state FA Chairman was on his feet, jumping and screaming as two of Africa's football super powers battled each other to a standstill inside the Baba Yara stadium in Kumasi

Over 40,000 noisy fans made the night uncomfortable for the Super Eagles and for Kurfi, a man who has seen it all after over three decades in football administration.

The former Chairman of Katsina United is however happy that the Super Eagles were able to withstand the pressure posed by the Black Stars and their teeming supporters and are back home to consolidate after a goalless first leg.

Speaking to www.nsmmedia.com.ng, Kurfi who is popularly called  Dan Arewa or Balele by close associates, said, he is on a mission to mobilize football fans for the return leg in Abuja.

He is not one man who makes empty promises. He has a reputation that has stood the test of time. When he says he will do it, he gets it done and most times, he leaves tongues wagging.

Ahead of the much anticipated 2nd leg World Cup Qualifying play-off between the Super Eagles of Nigeria and the Black stars of Ghana, Aminu Kurfi is promising Nigerians that himself and some of his friends will get the Moshood Abiola stadium filled to capacity come Tuesday March 29.

"I will set out to get some of my friends to support me so that we can buy match tickets for Nigerians who would love to come support the Super Eagles. This is my own contribution to ensuring that the Nigeria flag is hoisted among the 32 Nations that will participate at the 2022 world cup in Qatar".

"I am not happy with whoever fixed the gate fees for this match. The federal capital territory, Abuja, is a civil service state, the match falls on a week day when most civil servants will still be at work and someone, somewhere, is expecting that football fans that are battling with the harsh economy realities caused by the recent hike in fuel pump price will have the capacity to pay 2000 naira to support their darling Super Eagles?"

"If truly we want to be at the world cup, we must find a way to play around this and make the fans feel important"

"I have therefore decided to take the bull by the horn by talking with my political and business friends. Majority of whom are in Abuja for the APC convention and I am sure I can get them support my dream of making the Moshood Abiola stadium Abuja, uncomfortable for our visitors on Tuesday. We have got the players and I am sure they are highly motivated to pick the World Cup ticket. We all want to be in Qatar and on our part, we will get the stadium fully filled and Super charged on Tuesday". He concluded.

The Super Eagles need just a lone goal victory in Abuja on Tuesday to dim the Stars of Ghana and end their world cup dream.
