Super Eagle are hopeful Afeez Aremu made a return to the starting XI in the Bundesliga 2 on Saturday to propel FC St. Pauli to a resounding victory.


The former Flying Eagles defensive midfielder played the full throttle to ensure St. Pauli beat FC Ingolstadt 04 3-1 on the road to go top of the German second-tier.


The 22-year-old was impressive in the middle of the park. He put up a great shift in the office.


Black Stars attacking midfielder Daniel-Kofi Kyereh scored a stunning free-kick to give the visitors the lead in the 22nd minute.


Dennis Eckert equalised for the Ingolstadt in the 35th minute but that didn’t last long as Guido Burgstaller restored the advantage for St. Pauli two minutes later.

Danish forward Simon Makienok completed the important victory ten minutes after the break after connecting a pass from learned Paqarada.


Aremu has been outstanding for St. Pauli this campaign with 15 league appearances to his credit.


The former Akwa United ace has been with St. Pauli since 2019 when he teamed up with the the Hamburg-based club from the  Norwegian side Ik Start.


The midfielder has distinguished himself in the German second tier with his solid defensive displays for the Neighbourhood Kickers.
