NVBF Concludes Beach Volleyball Technical workshop for Tertiary Institutions

15 tertiary institution representatives have successfully completed the beach volleyball workshop sanctioned by the Nigeria Volleyball Federation (NVBF).


The 2-day technical workshop came to an end on Saturday at the MKO Abiola National Stadium, Package B in Abuja.


One of the resource coaches, Former National Beach Volleyball player, Kayode Ajilore said the workshop was aimed at teaching prospective individuals willing to become beach volleyball coaches with technical knowledge and fundamental skills of coaching.


The Coach of Nigeria Immigration said, “The workshop has enhanced the technical skills and expertise of individuals in tertiary institutions who are interested in becoming coaches of Beach Volleyball.


He said, “This is a course that most individuals have been looking forward to. We notified the board members of the Nigeria University Games (NUGA) and we thank God the workshop and the participants impressed the coaches making all necessary arrangements to have a successful program.”


Another resource coach, Vincent Unogwu said the workshop will boost the capacity of the Educational Institutions Coaches and this will guarantee quality performance when Beach Volleyball is finally played at the Nigeria University Games (NUGA).


The Head Coach of Kada Emeralds said, “It is another milestone in the journey to grow the volleyball introducing Beach Volleyball to Educational institutions sports. As you know, many higher Institutions have volleyball teams and also participate in different games which include NUGA, NIPOGA, NACEGA, and so on.


“This workshop is the first of its kind and a right step in the right direction. It will boost the capacity of the Tertiary Institutions coaches and guarantee quality performance when Beach Volleyball is finally played in NUGA.”


Beach Volleyball will be making its debut at this year’s Nigeria University Games (NUGA) come March 2022.

Kwara United GM Badawiy Banned for Two Years from Lagos Stadia

The Lagos State Football Association board has swiftly acted to address a blemish on the otherwise impeccable organization of the 2025 President Federation Cup finals, which took place last Saturday at the Mobolaji Johnson Arena, Onikan, Lagos. During the highly charged final match between Abakaliki FC and Kwara United, it was observed that the General Manager of the victorious Kwara United, Mr. Bashir Badawiy, violated the stringent security measures in place.
