Bauchi Gov. Bala Promised Continue Support for Wikki Tourists FC

The Bauchi State Governor, His Excellency Bala Muhammed Abdulkadir has assured his continued support to the State-owned Football Team, Wikki Tourists FC.


The Governor stated this when he entertained questions from Sports Journalists after watching the NPFL matchday 9 between Wikki Tourists and Nasarawa United as a special guest of honor at Abubakar Tafawa Balewa Stadium today 30/1/22 which ended 2-0 in favor of the Tourists.


The Governor in Company of his wife and some government functionaries said he was happy with what he saw in the players and will do everything possible within his reach to support them to gain Continental ticket this season.


In his words, I'm very impressed with their performance (players) and I'm encouraged to support them wherever necessary.


Match bonuses and other allowances will continue to be settled as at when due, the Governor emphasized.


He, therefore, urged them to keep the good performance to reciprocate Government's good gesture.


Other dignitaries in the entourage of the Governor were the speaker of Bauchi State House of Assembly, his deputy, and a traditional title holder, the wazirin Alhaji Muhammed Bello Kirfi.

The Lagos State Football Association board has swiftly acted to address a blemish on the otherwise impeccable organization of the 2025 President Federation Cup finals, which took place last Saturday at the Mobolaji Johnson Arena, Onikan, Lagos. During the highly charged final match between Abakaliki FC and Kwara United, it was observed that the General Manager of the victorious Kwara United, Mr. Bashir Badawiy, violated the stringent security measures in place. He made reckless attempts to run and celebrate in front of the five state governors seated in the VVIP section of the stadium, thereby jeopardizing their safety as well as that of other prominent dignitaries and industry leaders present.
