NPFL: Wikki Tourists' Lateef Eyes Top Scorers Award

Wikki Tourists' striker and the man that scored their goal 2021/2022 league season opening goal, Abdulateef Abiola has revealed that his target in the new Season is to clinch the high goalscorers award and also qualify his newfound hub Wikki Tourists FC to a Continental Competition.


Abiola spoke after the team's training at the Kwara Stadium yesterday as he prepares to face his former club Kwara United in one of the matchday 3 midweek crackers in the league later today.


The former Kwara United playmaker who joined Wikki Tourists this Season added that his first goal in the Season against Niger Tornadoes in Bauchi on matchday 2 has given him the motivation to aspire for more goals in the season.


I feel excited scoring the first goal in the season for my new club and I hope to continue with the feat when we face Kwara United and also in our subsequent games as the league progresses, Lateef prayed.


He added that Kwara is his home and expects to get the needed support from his fans.


He said although the league is at its infant stage indications are that it will be very competitive and Challenging.


Lateef who could not hide his joy pitching his tent with the Kaura boys also said his other ambition is to play for the Super Eagles somedaybelieving that Wikki Tourists is a good platform to provide him that opportunity.


The kick-off time for the match is 4 pm and the venue is Kwara Stadium.
