The Chairperson of the Nigeria Women Football League, Aisha Falode, has congratulated the players and management of Nigeria Women Football league Premiership club, FC Robo of Lagos for the wonderful Christmas gift from the Lagos State Governor, Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu, who on Christmas Eve donated a brand new Toyota Coastal bus to the club, at the Government House, Alausa, Lagos.

Falode expressed her gratitude on behalf of the management of FC Robo Football Club chairman, Mr. Emmanuel Osahon.

"The Lagos State Governor just demonstrated with this gift that, he truly loves women's football and he is committed to the development of sports in the state.

"Sanwo-Olu just showed everyone in the state that he is quietly watching those doing well for the state in the area of sports. And this is very commendable, especially as FC Robo last season were close to winning the NWFL Premiership Super Six at the Dipo Dina International Stadium, Ijebu-Ode, where the state was represented by the Lagos State Sports Commission chairman and Director General, Mr. Sola Aiyepeku, and Mr. Oluwatoyin Gafaar, who has been committed to sports development in Lagos since they resumed office.

FC Robo had the opportunity of winning the Premiership league title until the final game, but was unlucky in their last match against Delta Queens of Asaba, as they ended the season in the third position."

Falode added: "I want to say a bigger congratulations to the Lagos State Football Association headed by Barrister Seyi Akinwunmi and Otunba Tade Azeez for their worthy contributions to the development of FC Robo over the years.

"The Lagos FA demonstrated resilience and consistency in ensuring that the women league club gets to where they are today in the women's league.

"By extension, the Lagos State Governor has contributed to the further development and standard of the Nigeria Women Football League. We are grateful for this milestone", Aisha Falode said.
