6th Adamu Yola Gombe South Unity Cup: All-Stars Reinforce Team, Appoints Ex-Bare City Coach

Lukman Shuaibu, the ex- Coach of Bare United who finished second in last year's Adamu Yola Gombe South Unity Cup has sealed a two year deal with All Stars FC of Kaltungo, as the 2021 edition of the tournament gathers momentum


Shuaibu cited a change of environment as the reason for his decision. 


"Actually, I just wanted to change the environment. I don't have anything against them. Let it not look as if we had grudges. I needed to move from place to place to garner more experience from Billiri to Kaltungo. I might decide to join Balanga, by next year, who knows?" Shuaibu told the Adamu Yola Cup Media.


While revealing how he left his erstwhile team, Shuaibu said there was no formal communication with Bare City FC when he left. He noted the only decided he wanted to move on when he received a letter of invitation from All-Stars FC who needed his services.


Head Coach of All-Stars FC of Kaltungo who led them to to a third-place finish last year, Nura Sani gave an update on their preparation for this year's edition and the role new addition, Shuaibu will play as they set sight on the title this year.


"Our team has always risen to the occasion in the previous edition of the tournament and this time won't be different. We have been champions twice, runners-up once and on two occasions we were third. 


"Based on our previous performances, we are working towards making the team more formidable. We have registered some new players I have more confidence in, to lift the coveted trophy once again."


"I have some new signing and replacements, especially in the case of my captain Paul Haggai, who because of age and may not be able to play actively for me."


On the signing of Bare City ex-coach, Shuaibu, Nura said: 


"Because I have two or three players from his former team and he came along with them. I think that this is a plus for my team. For them as his players, he will understand them better, and seeing him from the bench would spur them to put up their best performances."


The 2021 Adamu Yola Gombe South Unity Football Cup, kicks off on 20th November 2021 at the Chief Olusegun Obasanjo Stadium, Gombe.
