The Chief Executive Officer of Nilayo Sports Management Limited, Hon. Bukola Olopade says all is set for the second edition of the King's Cup Golf tournament scheduled for October 10, 2021, at the Abeokuta Golf Club.


The former Commissioner for youth and sports in the Gateway state at a Press conference held on Tuesday, August 17 in Abeokuta confirmed that one hundred and fifty golfers will represent  Ake, Gbagura, Owu and Osile kingdoms, all from Egba land, it brings an increase to the number of participating teams as just Owu and Ake took part in the first edition.


He showered praises on Rites Foods Limited for supporting the Cultural heritage tournament adding that nothing else unifies the world better than sports. 


He said, "Rites Foods Limited is always quick to support us in our various Competitions, the Ijebu Heritage Half Marathon, Remo Ultra Race, and the Abeokuta Marathon, we appreciate the support and I must sincerely say it's a pleasure to have one of the biggest selling food and drinks brand as a partner".


The sports entrepreneur also gave kudos to co-sponsors of the event, NDIC and Kenya Airways, he described them as partners in progress who have committed so much to the development of sports.


Chairman Local organizing committee of the King's Cup Golf tournament Mr. Wale Adeogun assured of one of the best ever golf tournaments on the land, while the captain of Abeokuta Golf Club, Mr. Kola Adeleye corroborated his words, he added that the golf course in the Gateway state is ready for action.


The Press conference had in attendance the special assistant to the Ogun State governor on youth and job creation, Mr. Abiola Odetola, representatives of the sponsor, members of the Abeokuta Golf Club, and people from different walks of life.
