Tunisia 94': President Buhari Redeemed FG's Promise to Super Eagles
After twenty-seven years of unfulfilled promise to the members of gold-winning squad of Super Eagles to the 1994 edition of African Cup of Nations (AFCON) by the Federal Government of Nigeria, the present administration under President Muhammadu has approved the allocation hours to all squad members of the team that won Nigeria's second AFCON trophy in Tunisia.
This was contained in a statement released by the Senior Special Assistant to the President on medial and publicity, Mallam Garba Shehu on Thursday evening.
The statement reads in part, "President Muhammadu Buhari has apprthe oved allocation of 3-bedroom houses to the Super Eagles Squad that won the African Cup of Nations in Tunis, Tunisia, in 1994, making real a promise by the Federal Government".
Following a memo by Minister of Works and Housing, Babatunde Raji Fashola, the President approved the allocations in their states of preference, noting that six players and three technical crews received their houses already.
The player are: Peter Rufai, Alloy Agu, Ike Shorounmu, Uche Okechukwu, Samson Siasia, Efan Ekoku, Sunday Oliseh, Benedict Iroha, Isaac Semitoje, Mutiu Adepoju, Emmanuel Amunike, Victor Ikpeba, Austin Egu,avoen and Wilfred Agbonavbare (Deceased).
Other are: Uche Okafor (Deceased), Thompson Oliha (Deceased), Stephen Keshi (Deceased), Christian Chukw.u, Dr Akin Amao, Stephen Edema, Col. A As,ielue and B. Aromasodun.
