Switzerland Club Grasshopper Appoints Ex-Super Eagles Player as Director

Switzerland side, Grasshopper Club of Zurich has appointed former Nigeria international Seyi Olofinjana as its new technical director. The 40-year-old Nigerian was most recently loan manager at Wolverhampton Wanderers.


The ex-Super Eagles midfielder, Olofinjana will take over the position of Technical Director at Grasshopper Club of Zurich with immediate effect and will be responsible for the sports department. He takes over the position of interim sports director from Jimmy Berisha, who is stepping back into his role as managing director.


Olofinjana played for Stoke City, Hull City, and Wolverhampton Wanderers during his playing days. After his active career, he was employed by Wolverhampton Wanderers in various roles. Most recently he was active as a loan manager at the premier league club.


Olofinjana had 56 caps for the Nigerian national team and holds two master's degrees as a sports director and project manager. Olofinjana is looking forward to starting in Zurich: "I am happy to be part of a club with a history like GC.
