Lagos FA's Ex-internationals Cup Kicks Saturday

  The eagerly awaited Ex-Internationals Cup organised by Lagos State Football Association kicks off Saturday, with three matches to be played on matchday 1, in two different centres. In the opening match, FC Ugbade would play host to FC Nieketein at the Nitel ground, Oshodi, at 7:00 am. Other matchday 1 games would be held at Legacy pitch Surulere, as FC Omoruyi and FC Obafemi trade tackles at 10:00 am, while FC Elaho and FC Udeze do battle on the same pitch at 12 noon. According to the organisers, the tournament which would see 32 Lagos based ex-Nigeria internationals adopting various teams supposedly for the tournament, would be played on a home and away knockout basis across different playgrounds including Legacy Pitch, Nitel Ground, Maracana Stadium, Victor Agali Stadium, Jalisco Stadium, amongst other Stadia. Lagos FA Boss, 9 Other State FA Chairmen Visit Recuperating Tijani Babangida

  Chairman of Lagos State Football Association (LSFA), Hajji Gafar Olawale Liameed, Friday morning, joined the delegation of nine other States FA Chairmen including Kwara, Jigawa, Yobe, Benue, amongst others, in paying a condolence visit to the grieving and recuperating PFAN President Tijani Babangida, MON. It could be recalled that the former Super Eagles and Ajax Amasterdam star was involved in a ghastly accident on the Kaduna-Zaria road, which claimed the lives of his younger brother Ibrahim and his one- year old son. The States FA bosses while condoling with Babangida, who also sustained a serious leg injury, prayed that God grant him and his family, the strength and fortitude to bear the losses. On his part, Hajji Gafar, noted that football as the world's most unifying factor, should continued to be used to further promote peace, unity and progress, amongst the people.

In Ibadan Zone One, Bashorun High School will face Eleyele Secondary School in the final after beating Immanuel Grammar School, by 3-0 and the latter also put three past Ibadan City Academy. Methodist High School won Bishop Phillip 5-4 via penalties, after regulation time ended 0-0, thereby booking  final date with Zumuratual Hujaj, who defeated T.L Oyesina 3-1 in the second game of Ibadan Zone II.   The 2024 Erelu Ngozi Adeleke Table Tennis Championship for Female Secondary School Students in Osun State kicked off with thrilling matches at the Michael and Felicia Alabi Hall, Osogbo City Stadium, on Tuesday. Fatimo Kazeem and Azeezat Ifabiyi, both from St. James Grammar School, along with Nafisat Abdulazeez from Osogbo Grammar School, have advanced to the next round after impressive victories in their opening matches. Oyo Governor's Cup 2024: Zonal Elimination to Begin on Tuesday

  The Zonal Elimination of the 2024 Oyo Governor's Cup will start on Tuesday at various venues according to the fixtures done on Saturday, the 25th of May.  Over 200 Schools from every nooks and crannies of Oyo State, took part in the Preliminary Qualifiers, which ended last Wednesday, producing 33 Schools that will play in the Zonal Elimination games. This is coming on the heal of a rumour circulating around on social media that the center of excellence's FA is involved in court cases which according to the rumour has disrupted the football activities at its Surulere headquarters.  The Lagos State FA made this disclaimer in statement released on Friday and made available to newsmen. Oyo Governor's Cup 2024: 33 Schools to Trade Tackle after Preliminary Qualifiers

It would be recalled that some zones have already ended their preliminaries, while some are still in the final round.     The maiden edition of the Oyo State Governor's Cup for Secondary School Students started on a good note, as a total of 18 matches was played on the opening day of the Preliminaries. The Football Championship proudly sponsored by Peculiar Ultimate Concerns recorded a total number of 55 goals across five centres on Monday. Chairman of LSFA, Hajji Gafar Liameed in his statement noted the recent ugly happenstances as it concerns the affairs of the LSFA, which he described as very unfortunate. He said the executive board of the LSFA, remain united, strong and undeterred, as it continues to work in unity and purposefully, to make the business of football in the state, better and attractive to all stakeholders and investors. Fouad Oki Drags LSFA Board Before Lagos State Police Command

  Embattled Former Chairman of Lagos State Football Association (LSFA), Ogboni Fouad Oki in another futile attempt to stop football administration and its development, has dragged congress members of the LSFA to the Lagos State Police Command, Ikeja, on several spurious allegations. Chairman of LSFA, Hajji Gafar Liameed, Friday morning, led other congress members on invitation of the Lagos State Deputy Commissioner, Operations, DCP Fatai Tijani, to defend the petition written against the congress.  Oki had alleged in his petition to the Police that he was physically attacked and severely injured by over 30 officers from the DSS, on the orders of the LSFA Chairman, Gafar. However, the petitioner, Fouad Oki, refused to show up at the Police Command.  It would be recalled that he (Oki) had earlier charged members of the congress to a civil court, which is contrary to the statutes governing the game globally.
